The
problem with insistent inclusion is it ironically perpetrates exclusion. What I
find most frightening and damaging, is the righteous indignation some take with
excluding others, as if somehow its penance for generational or historical
injustices. Society and people can only move forward through generosity in
spirit towards each other, not through the perpetration of the same intolerance
in a new form. We do better because it is the virtuous act. Not to sate the
emptiness of vengeance.
